Summary/Objective

The Mechanical Manager position manages design teams and designs mechanical systems for residential and commercial buildings.

  1. Management of support staff including engineers, designers, technicians, and interns.
  2. Management of project schedules and staffing requirements.
  3. Management of clients to retain existing clients.
  4. Project management from conceptual design phase through construction.
  5. Attend meetings with clients and take diligent notes.
  6. Attend job site walks to observe existing conditions and construction progress.
  7. Basis of design writing.
  8. Specification writing.
  9. Understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
  10. Working knowledge of codes & standards:
  11. Ability to read construction documents.
  12. Ability to design mechanical systems
  13. Ability to design plumbing systems
  14. Ability to perform Mechanical Engineering Calculations
  15. Provide responses to Requests for Information (RFI’s)
  16. Provide Submittal reviews
  17. Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives.
  18. Ability to climb ladders and survey construction sites.
  19. And all other tasks assigned.

  • Navisworks or similar clash detection design tool
  • MEP Fabrication

Supervision Received

The work is performed under supervision of the Principals, Directors.

Supervisory Responsibility

Supervise Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits at a desk, working on a keyboard or mouse to design drawings in a computer.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, hybrid position. Employees are onsite Tuesday/Thursday and are allowed to work remotely Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You may select your shift schedule, but you must start between 7:00am-9:00am each day.

Travel

May be required to travel within a 50-mile radius, and occasionally further when projects are outside of this area.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent 5-10 years of experience.
