Job Description:
As an Electrical Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of electrical systems for diverse building projects. You will collaborate with a team of talented professionals to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet client requirements while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Electrical System Design and Analysis:
- Design electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, and fire alarm systems for building projects.
- Conduct load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit calculations to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software for system layout and documentation.
- Code Compliance and Regulatory Standards:
- Ensure electrical designs comply with local building codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), and other regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of industry standards and emerging technologies to inform design decisions and optimize system efficiency.
- MEP Coordination and Integration:
- Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall MEP designs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings to resolve conflicts and ensure system compatibility.
- Sustainable Design and Energy Efficiency:
- Incorporate energy-efficient lighting fixtures, controls, and renewable energy systems into electrical designs to minimize environmental impact.
- Perform energy modeling and analysis to evaluate the performance of electrical systems and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Construction Support and Commissioning:
- Provide technical support during construction, reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs (Requests for Information), and conducting site inspections.
- Assist with system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with design intent and client requirements.
- Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand project goals, preferences, and constraints.
- Foster positive client relationships through responsive communication, proactive problem-solving, and exceptional service delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on building projects and MEP systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design software.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
