Production Supervisor

PURPOSE

To coordinate the operation of the production department lines under the direct supervision of the department manager.

DUTIES

The duties of this position are those described below. This job description does not state or imply that the duties listed are the only duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. Employees holding this position will be required to perform any other job-related duties as requested by management.

Essential Duties These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.

  • Must be familiar with the quality system requirements of the plant.
  • Ensure that all processing activities are in conformance with product specifications.
  • Verify, control and assure that all production parameters are within the planed budget.
  • Serve as a liaison between department managers and hourly employees.
  • Assures that all products are being produced in conformance with the GMP’s. Schedule work assignments, vacations, and days off for the hourly employees. Verifies labor hours and pay roll report accuracy.
  • Responsible for the distribution of workload to each of the leads daily.
  • Verify and control all documents used according to last document status.
  • Responsible for assessing the needs and provide training to employees and document training.
  • Responsible for conducting monthly safety and quality sessions as required and keep adequate documented records.
  • Aid in the solution of any processing problem.
  • Perform and documented daily supervisor audits.
  • Resolve team conflict and issue documented disciplinary actions and recognition.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, peers, department managers, and senior management.
  • Set specific and measurable goals for department’s continuous improvement.
  • Effectively communicate in Spanish and English both verbal and written (desirable).
  • Must possess sufficient supervisory skill / experience.
  • Must possess some computer skills.
  • Be prepared to perform other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

  • In the event of the Product Manager’s absence, it is the responsibility of the Production Supervisor to taken on the responsibilities of the Product Manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 4 yr. Degree from an accredited College or University is highly preferred
  • 2 years as a Production Supervisor, or 4 years as a Production Lead.

FSQA Manager

Summary: Responsible for quality systems and procedures, food safety programs, regulatory affairs.  Implement and oversee plant product quality improvement and proactive initiatives and quality measurement programs.  Responsible for programs involving product/ingredient specifications, web based information systems, product cuttings, quality audits and customer complaints.

Position Responsibilities / Objectives

  • This is a safety-required position in which the employee is responsible for his or her own or other people’s safety in a manufacturing environment. Safety performance and consciousness requires full, uninterrupted, unbiased, cognitive ability and behavior.

Vendor Assurance Analyst

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 – $120,000 + 10% bonus
       
SHIFT | HOURS:     1st shift 8a – 5p | Monday – Friday  
You will help procure the best products and services from vendors. Actively involved in all aspects of vendor management and coordination throughout every stage of the business relationship. They supervise any pre-screening or qualification procedures and negotiate favorable terms and prices. They initiate any onboarding or initial account setup, make introductions to direct account representatives, oversee the processing of contracts and invoices, and resolve any conflicts to ensure an ongoing positive connection. They also guide and implement high-level vendor management strategies and policies.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business or related field is required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Vendor Management- specific to food

Sanitation Supervisor

3rd SHIFT: OVERNIGHT
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a sanitation supervisory role in the food manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of cleaning systems (CIP, COP) and chemical cleaning training
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, WHMIS, First Aid, Lock/Tag Out, Health and Safety Regulations, and applicable requisites
  • Able to work in cold, hot, humid or wet manufacturing environment, work with chemicals and stand/walk for extensive period of time.
  • Responsible about getting work done independently.
  • Can handle working in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to use a pallet jack or scissor lift to help support daily and non-daily duties.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices following all sanitation and process procedures and guidelines and reference SOP’s where applicable.

  • Responsible for monitoring all facility cleaning and sanitizing production machinery, equipment and small-wares, floors, walls and public areas.

Sanitation Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multi-plant sanitation operations at food processing plants.
  • Act as third shift ‘manager in charge’ for all operations, safety and human resources functions.
  • Develop and implement strategic, best practices sanitation programs ensuring compliance with Company and
  • USDA requirements.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, enforce all PPE and safety standards. Train and develop staff in these practices.
  • Participate (and contribute) to plant audits on safety, quality and sanitation.
  • Develop staffing and deployment plans for Sanitation team members.
  • Develop and implement metrics to evaluate Sanitation department performance.

  • Multi-plant/site experience preferred.

Safety Manager

The Safety Manager will drive all safety and environmental related initiatives throughout Pennsylvania Operations ensuring all employees are provided the safest work environment achievable and maintaining operational compliance with company, customer, and regulatory guidelines. This includes but is not limited to conducting needed and reoccurring training to all personnel on required safety procedures and practices; ensuring all inspections, such as Safety Scans, are conducted as scheduled or required by law; ensure all vehicle, equipment, and materials are operated and handled according to governmental, manufacturer, and Company guidelines. Promote and foster accident prevention through continuous review of conditions and behaviors

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures all accidents and injuries are investigated and documented to determine root causes and assists with developing corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence.  Provides safety training guidelines for operations by reviewing current OSHA regulations and designing effective training programs to meet compliance requirements.
  • Organizes and schedules training sessions and provides onsite safety training for employees.
  • Performs onsite inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and coordinates industrial hygiene services such as noise levels, equipment and air quality, etc.
  • Evaluates and provides guidelines on safety equipment and supplies according to ANSI standard.
  • Maintains high level of safety awareness and ensures consistency of safety program implementation by providing up-to-date information on all related safety matters to the management team and continuously working with supervisors and managers to effectively handle safety-related issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field. In exceptional cases, relevant and extensive work experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in environmental, health and safety.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal safety compliance and regulatory issues, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act
  • OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Training (or equivalent).
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar quality or EHS certifications preferred.

Quality Systems Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:
Supervises the day-to-day activities of QA Technicians to ensure QA operations and compliance with company, customer, and regulatory agency standards for food & packaging quality & safety; and enhance product development.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Quality Management – The position will constantly review and manage the quality performance of Quality Technicians. Review and enhance suppliers’ programs to ensure quality, food safety and consistency for all products produced. May be asked to arrange and/or conduct facility audits, product mock recovery, administer non-conformance products, and participate in operations testing of new and/or modified products. Assist Product Development in specification development, enhancement and revisions. Constantly fill in and perform all the responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager in the absence of the incumbent. {65%}
  2. Technical Support – Provide technical support to Product Development and Operations in conducting process capabilities, Quality Assurance standards, quality procedures, food safety, and food security requirements. Participate on cross-functional teams as Quality Assurance liaison. {25%}
  3. Quality Enhancements of Ingredients/Packaging – Support and provide needed assistance in the implementation of comprehensive ingredients and packaging materials receiving, evaluation and tracking programs. {10%}

LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

  • Day-to-day interaction with QA Managers to discuss quality strategies for the facility. Also discuss product performance and direction for improvement on Quality Systems.
  • Provide QA Technicians with direction, training and support for implementation of various quality initiatives in the facility.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:

Education/Certification:

BS Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or other technical disciplines. Additional Management or Technical education preferred. Computer literacy a definite plus.

Experience:

5 – 8 years in Quality Assurance or related technical discipline (in a Senior Technician or management capacity) in the Food Industry. 3 – 5 years in QA and/or Manufacturing in a supervisory capacity preferred.

Training/Other:

Knowledge of Sanitation GMP, HACCP, SSOP, SPC, and Food processing. Sanitarian Certification,  Knowledge of ISO 9000, and Project Management preferred.

Knowledge:

  • Responsible for Quality management of company programs in the food processing groups.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of quality improvements on existing and new products in the facility.
  • Monitor product and process quality through audits, HACCP, Analytical testing, Mock Recovery, product cuttings and other quality initiatives.
  • Provide needed technical support to Product Development, Operations and other functional groups in the development of new ingredients, specifications enhancements, and quality and operations procedures.

Project Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

This position plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates assigned engineering work; monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards; ensures effective communication between all disciplines and all other project participants.  They will work extensively with and require assistance from multiple departments throughout the organization to properly define and execute successful projects.  Projects will vary greatly in requirements/execution and scope from small installations to large expansions.  The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects at varying sites, while maintaining budgets, timing and quality are a must.  Candidate must possess a drive to consistently be improving/learning and applying new methods to overcome obstacles/barriers to complete their tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, define, program manage and implement equipment/process/building/utility installations within the integrated supply chain.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects, including contractors/equipment manufacturers/internal support.
  • Ability to recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective action.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Related Experience/Education.

Plant Manager

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ten or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university, preferably a B.S. in Food Science, Engineering, or Management.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management and a track record of achieving results against a comprehensive set of KPIs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing while ensuring policies and procedures are followed. This position develops processes that maximize ownership, stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred (not required with the right experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in food processing or manufacturing operations, with a proven track record of success in setting up and managing production processes.
  • Strong knowledge of, or capability of quickly learning, food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA guidelines, with experience in implementing and maintaining robust food safety programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques is a plus.

  • Set up and manage production processes for gummy, fruit chew, hard candy, and other candy manufacturing in facility, working hands-on with 1-2 production staff to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Project Management teams to customize processes for each client’s unique needs, ensuring that every candy meets our clients’ specifications and quality standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, production scheduling, cleaning protocols, testing procedures, and shipping/receiving operations to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
